"What Do You Do With an Idea?"
This book by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Mae Besom is an absolutely beautiful story. It earned a gold 🪙 medal 🏅 in the Independent Publisher Book Awards.
Our children love this book. As an idea blossoms the book transforms from black and white to color. It shares a message that inspires a child to improve the world around them - by working with their own ideas.

Cheerio
Book review! We love "The Cheerios Play Book" You get a little cup of O's and put them on the pages as you go! The board book version even has little cutouts to make it easier for people to place the O's. This has been a fun book for road trips and even snacks. The words are simple. The book is wonderfully interactive.

Nausicaa
Do you like dystopian fiction for children?
There are honestly none that I like more than Naussicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
Did you know that the Miyazaki film was based on the graphic novels?
We have them in our home. The art is stunning. In this story a little girl befriends deadly forest creatures, cultivates the most toxic plants and fungi to become harmless and even medicinal by giving them fresh water, and saves the world with overwhelming gentleness, innocence, and bravery.

Find Me! Adventures in the Forest.
Have you ever had a book that kept a child entertained for hours? This is one of those books for us. Our 8 year old loves it. This book has a sweet little story about a wolf at the beginning. The rest of the book has various search and find activities to do. They ask 3 questions for every two-page spread. The book is vibrantly colorful with a different forest scene on each page. The book introduces many cartoon plants, animals, and fungi that can be found in the forest - in a playful way. The answers to the questions are all provided in the back of the book, but in a way I haven't seen before: all objects that are not the ones they're trying to find are a lighter tone. So a child can go back and find them easier in the main page after looking at the answer.
