New Chapter

I am starting a new chapter in my life. I have wrapped up my time with NASA, and I am ready to consult.

Budget cuts hit, and Monday September 30, 2024 was my last day at NASA.

I am trying to be as optimistic as possible here. To count my blessings and see how this is opening doors to more freedom.

If anyone has paid part time consulting work for a Space Botanist, I'm here.

"To infinity, and beyond."

I took a few photos on-site to say goodbye.

Here's a snapshot I took with the Artemis Generation wall in the KSC Headquarters building. Can you spot Matt Romeyn with the Veggie hardware?

I always take a photo with this Mercury Redstone rocket when I stop by the KSC badging office. I took this photo shortly after I turned in my badge.
Here's a photo with an Apollo era space suit in the O&C building at KSC.
Here's a shot of my old lab coat from the plant lab. It's disposable and as much as I wanted to take it home as a souvenir, I decided it was time to put it in the waste bin at work.

Since my time with the NASA Open Science Data Repository started the same day I finished my time with the NASA Postdoctoral Program, I had the same work email address from August 2019- September 2024. That was pretty special.

Do you have any special memories of your last day working somewhere memorable?

How did you celebrate and/or commemorate your time there? I bought some cake mix to make cake with the kids tomorrow.
