Dark Mode

A couple of days ago it happened.
I turned on my phone, went to Facebook, saw a white background, and immediately turned it off. I put on my sunglasses and tried to change it back to dark mode, but the setting was gone.
This morning Facebook announced that it's back.

Here's a picture of what the Facebook app normally looks like vs dark mode. For a few days, the option to switch to dark mode disappeared. It's missing in the first screenshot, but present in the second (after the update)

If Dark Mode is still broken for you, update your Facebook app. You may have to go to the app store to even see that it needs updating. Even though it automatically updated to get rid of dark mode, it won't automatically update to bring it back.

If you don't use Dark Mode or Night Mode on all of your devices already, try it out! It's more energy efficient so it will extend your battery life. It has less blue light so it will restore your circadian clock and help you sleep better at night. It will be easier on your eyes and reduce eyestrain and headaches.

It is a simple accessibility hack for those of us with migraines that can benefit just about everyone.

Come to the dark side. We save power and have fewer headaches.

Here is a link to a PDF from Whitworth University that explains steps you can take to reduce eyestrain when using electronics all day.
