Parks of the Space Coast: Cocoa Isles Park
Cocoa Isles Park is a small neighborhood park in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
This park is open from 6am - 10pm. With most of the area parks closing at sunset, this park gives families a later option.
This park is located just beside the Maritime Hammock Preserve. Here's a link to information about that space. https://www.cityofcocoabeach.com/Facilities/Facility/Details/Maritime-Hammock-Preserve-27
We will explore that space another day, for now let's check out this adorable tiny park!
With one major play structure, a covered picnic table, swings, and mature oak trees, this park has plenty to keep children occupied.
The substrate under the play structure is a dense covering of wood chips. This playground has three slides, a small tunnel, steps, a ladder, and more! It is shaded throughout most of the day by mature trees. Our 4 year old was especially happy to find a steering wheel under the playground that she could reach easily without climbing. A white PVC pipe surrounds the playground which helps to contain the wood chips. The rest of the playground is mostly grassy.
Here's a photo of the three belt swings. There is another swing set with three infant swings just beside this one.
While we visited this park, we found many green anoles. If you like chasing and catching reptiles, this is a great place to visit. Here's a photo of an anole in a child's hand.
What is Not Here
There are no water fountains or restrooms at this playground. Our 10 year old was disappointed that there was no basketball hoop. No pets are permitted at this playground.
Not Accessible
This park has sidewalks through the neighborhood to get to it, but the entrance of the play area transitions abruptly to dirt or grass, depending on the entrance. This park would be challenging to navigate with a stroller or other wheels.
