Parks of the Space Coast: Patriots Park
This little park is located on Long Point Drive, in Cape Canaveral. It is situated right by a bus stop. This is the home of the Cape Canaveral Community Garden.
⚠️🚧 As of 2/3/24 this park is currently under construction and not open for children to play. I will update this blog post when it reopens. 🚧⚠️
This small neighborhood park has no official parking, but it backs a gas station with extra paced space and an entrance gate that we use. Here is a photo of our 4 year old opening the gate.
Speaking of gates and fences, this park has quite a bit of fencing around it, but it is not entirely enclosed. With its close proximity to a major highway you will not want to let your guard down if the child in your life is likely to run.
We come to this park for the swings. There are two belt swings and two baby swings. The ground under the swings and play structure is loose sand.
The play structure for this park has a lot of fun bars, including monkey bars and climbing bars. Over the years the playground has been ravaged by the salty sea air, but park staff has kept it up and patched it well. They replaced metal mesh floors with all weather composite deck. Here's a photo that shows the deck.
A lone boingy motorcycle remains where a larger bouncy structure was removed.
The ground on the playground is sand, but there are lots of little sticks scattered throughout. Large old Oak trees shade every part of this park.
There are no accessible 🚫♿ aspects to this small neighborhood park. Every entrance goes straight to grass. There are no paved paths around or to this park. There are no restrooms or water fountains.
